I couldn’t have said this any better. Yes, I have to admit, sometime I wonder how others feel about my posts, but then I think….WHO CARES. It’s my way of venting, and if you don’t like it, then unfollow me. It’s just that easy.
With that said, please follow me and click the like if you like it 🙂
Sometimes I feel like I’m running into walls with the lack of sleep, and always on the go, go go! I find myself googling quotes to keep me motivated–just like this one. Hope you guys are having a good day!
I know this is a touchy subject for a person in my household (my husband) but I have to know:
Why not pay attention to detail?
For instance, I came home and immediately started dinner. I go into my cabinet to get a 9 inch skillet and when I take it out I noticed that the pot is dirty. Normally I’m the one who is in charge of dishes, and by in charge, I mean putting them in the dishwasher. I know I am a Nazi when it comes to checking for clean dishes and to make sure everything is clean before it’s being put back into the cabinets. What I don’t understand is; how my husband can put a dirty skillet away without thinking “hmmmm let me put it back in the dishwasher or let me scrub it by hand.”
Another example: In the shower he would rather cut open a toothpaste tube instead of going into the closet to get a new one.
I’m not too sure why my husband chooses not to pay attention to detail. I find it rather unattractive. 😦
As for my last example–now that February is right around the corner, I’ve already purchased my Valentine’s Day card (over a week ago). How much would you want to bet that my husband will buy my Valentine’s Day card on 2/14/15. How much more would you bet that he’ll purchase it an hour before I come home and all he will do is sign it? I’m not saying that it can’t be purchased the day of, but at least put some words in it.
I read this in an article this past week and saved it. It comments the following:
“It’s easy to live like a mouse on a wheel: you go to work, you eat, you sleep, you go to work again, and so on, and then it’s the weekend. Make regular time to step off that wheel and reflect on your life”.
Today, spend a few minutes daydreaming on your commute to work. Don’t interrogate yourself during this downtime; simply let thoughts emerge and listen to what your innate wisdom is telling you.
I did just that today! I picked up my kid from the sitters and just relaxed on the ride home. No radio, no singing, no noisy toys. We really didn’t say much to each other either. Not only was it therapeutic, I got a lot of thinking done. Normally my thinking time is in the shower…I’ve must have been a mermaid in another life with all the time I spend showering (thinking).
I will need to incorporate this in my daily routine more often. Even if it’s for 3 minutes. Just like you de-clutter your house, work and life; you will really feel like your mind has been de-cluttered by giving it some love. I dare you to try it.
Well that’s my rant for tonight. Hope you guys have a great evening!
So I have to mention that I’ve been watching the movie FROZEN on repeat all day. My kid is obsessed and I’ve officially memorized 90% of all the songs. Is anyone else watching this movie on a loop? I have questions about the movie–like why was Elsa born with the freezing powers but she sings that it’s a curse? Or how did she even get it? Hereditary? A hidden real curse? Is it true the sunken ship that Elsa’s parents were on; were on route to Rapunzel’s wedding? Is it also the same ship that shows sunken in the movie The Little Mermaid? So many connections, and decades later…amazing! Google them! Disney is something else when it comes to these movies.
It’s rare for me to see old couples hold hands in public. But when I do, I get all warm inside to think that there is still unconditional love out there. That people still stay married and work through their problems, unlike today’s youth.
If you see an elderly couple, think of this post and smile 🙂
